Governmental Institutions

Under the latest revision of the Congolese Constitution, the institutions of the Government are a direct responsibility of the Prime Minister and the Parliament who nominate the persons to occupy the positions in the Cabinet of ministers. The President then signs the appointments. At this time the list is:

  • Supreme Court
    The Judges of the supreme court are nominated by the President who heads a High Council of Magistrates. After their appointment, they cannot be removed.

All local officials are the responsibility of the central government which assigns to them any responsibilities that it sees fit.
