Executive<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1273def elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1273def\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The <strong>President<\/strong> appoints and heads the cabinet of ministers. However, the members of the council, the Prime Minister included, are selected by the Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>He serves a 7-year term and he cannot stay in office for more than 2 consecutive terms. He is directly elected by the people and must receive the absolute majority of the votes, either through the first, or a second round carried 24 days after the first.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The eligibility prerequisites demand that:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a) The candidate is of Congolese origin<br>b) He must have at least 15 years of experience in his profession<br>c) He must not be younger than 40 and older than 70 years of age<br>d) He must be of good character<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-58e7d09 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"58e7d09\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-2d86bf7\" data-id=\"2d86bf7\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-afe2a12 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"afe2a12\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">2. Legislative<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cd83df6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cd83df6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>a) the National assembly<\/strong><br \/>It is considered as the Lower House and is formed by 151 members that serve for five years. They are elected through a two round system, if they did not receive 50%+1 votes on the first round. The current president of the Assembly is Isidore Mvouba.<\/p><p><strong>b) the Senate<\/strong><br \/>is the Upper House. 72 senators serve for six-year terms and are elected by regional, district and local councils.
