Einer der H\u00f6hepunkte in der Geschichte des Landes ist die Tatsache, dass General de Gaulle es als seinen Wohnsitz w\u00e4hlte, von dem aus er die franz\u00f6sischen Streitkr\u00e4fte w\u00e4hrend des Zweiten Weltkriegs f\u00fchrte.
